A hickey is a bruise normally caused by someones mouth. In the field of romance it is made by someone to someone as a sign of animalistic desire. It leaves a small bruise. Like a territorial mark on a your partners neck.
But there is other ways to achieve this mark. Perhaps you have heard of Chinese cupping treatment or suction cup therapy? Its a form of therapy that starts your bloodflow with the help of suction cups that are placed on parts of your body. Its known to be very helpful for aching bodies but can leave bruises on your body.
Yesterday I found another way to gain a suction cup bruise.
One part of being an artist is your constant search for new ideas and cool effects. I thought that if I use an industrial suction cup, (the kind you see used for lifting big glass windows) I could find a way of levitating myself. I placed the suction cup on my back and it really stuck to my flesh. It was even possible to lift me of the ground. What i didn’t calculate with was the bruise it would leave. After experimenting for about 15 minutes and the thing came of it left a big blue stain. I’m not gonna use this effect in my professional career but I will use the experience and never try it again.
